Happy New Year loves!
This is the part where I should detail my new year resolutions but, I don’t have any. 2016 was a year of growth for me and I am simply going to continue in the same direction this year. I created this blog in March 2016 and a lot has changed since then, from changing the design to building more knowledge about blogging. I am truly amazed at how people have connected with me by reading my posts, I thank you all! I am not the greatest at blogging or vlogging but one important lesson I learnt in 2016 is that small steps are just as great as big ones.
I didn’t set any major goals for 2016 but I can honestly tell you that I am pleased with what I have achieved. Let me explain that it all starts within, whatever you sow in your mind is what you’re likely to reap. I want to share with you a few life changes that helped me further develop & improve my personal and working life throughout 2016.
Surrounding myself with positivity
2016 made me realise just how much the environment we’re in sets the mood for us. You’ll be surprised how being around people who encourage and believe in you really brings out the goodness in everything you do. I chose positivity over negativity on a daily basis and simply avoided anyone with negative energy and this really helped me focus on my goals.
I was inspired by so many people to go for the things I want because, well, waiting around doesn’t get anything done. I visualised my goals and took immediate actions to accomplish them! Word of advice: don’t be afraid, we can only learn to improve by taking action first.
Believing in myself
If you don’t believe in yourself, nobody else will. I wouldn’t classify myself as a very confident person but I’ve had to learn to believe in myself a little bit more. I am important, I can add value to a discussion and I certainly can have a positive impact in the world I live in.
Taking a break
As a mother of three now, I have taught myself to take a break when it all gets too much. You see, there is no way I can stay positive, look after my home, husband and kids when I’m not looking after myself properly. I have learnt not to put too much pressure on myself as it just doesn’t generate positive results. Taking a break is all part of LOVING myself.
I look forward to more growth this year because, in my view, one can never stop learning and improving themselves in this life.
If you follow me on any social media platform, you’ll pretty much understand that I believe positive thinking leads to a happy life, we all need motivation and inspiration from time to time so I am launching Motivational Mondays here on Mummy’s Corner. I will be sharing motivational words and/or inspiration every Monday with the hopes that anyone reading will be encouraged to kick start their week with a positive mindset. I really hope that you’ll be stopping by for your weekly dose of positivity!
Quote of the week: Everything in your life is a reflection of a choice you have made. If you want a different result, make a different choice.
Wishing you all a year full of joy and happiness! 🙂
